"This is a review long over due. Firstly, I can't recommend Brendan highly enough for any level of remodeling or renovation jobs you may be doing. In November 2016, I wanted to demo/replace my fireplace mantle and add wood beams to my living room ceiling. I contacted a few contractors to get estimates, but I wasn't​ impressed by any of them. I came across A Desert Rat Builder, and a gentleman by the name of Brendan showed up to my front door a few days later, with an impressive "duck dynasty" beard ready to give me an estimate. Brendan was very thorough in his explanation of the demo and remodeling, along with a quote that was more than reasonable. I was highly pleased with his professionalism and the opportunity to deal with someone who knows their business and takes genuine pride in the quality of the work they're doing. Brendan also expects his sub contractors to provide superior work with no short cuts.
Brendan recommended I add wood behind the drywall, so my television would have better reinforcement when it was mounted. Which I thought was a great idea! I was highly satisfied with my new fireplace mantle and wooden beams.
In January 2017, I contacted Brendan again to ask if he would be interested in building a dog house. I thought Brendan was going to not show any interest or say he would "get back to me". However I was wrong, and I presented him with the type of dog house I wanted along with the features. Once everything was finalized, Brendan began building the dog house. All I can say is I was AMAZED at the attention to detail he put into building the dog house. Brendan repeatedly told me, "I know it's a dog house, but I can't take shortcuts and I want it to be done right". It was impressive to see him literally build a miniature house in my backyard all by himself. Brendan never had a bad attitude, and whether he is building a structure for a person or "man's best friend", he wants to be sure you are completely satisfied. The dog house turned out to be phenomenal!
My experience with Brendan has been consistent across the spectrum of projects that he has done. His work is consistently delivered on-time with absolute perfection, and to say that Brendan goes the extra mile to ensure that you are satisfied with every detail would be an understatement. Brendan's skill of craftsmanship gives him the ability to think on his feet and be a creative problem solver. I will recommend A Desert Rat Builder unreservedly for jobs both big and small!!"
